How the score works
Five checks, 20 points each. Photos, length and text per photo earn partial points; structure and specs are yes or no.
Photos

- Shoppers can't hold the product. Several angles, a close-up and the product in use answer questions before they're asked.
Description length
800+ characters
- A one-line description leaves materials, fit, use and care unexplained — and gives search engines little to read.
Structure
Headings or bullet lists
- Shoppers tend to scan. Short sections with headings let them find the one detail they came for.
Specs
Sizes, materials or a spec table
- Concrete numbers and materials settle questions that can otherwise turn into returns or support emails.
Text per photo
100+ characters per photo
- Plenty of photos with almost no text is a common gap: the visuals are there, but nothing explains them.

- What is A+ Content?
- A+ Content is Amazon's feature that lets brand-registered sellers add image-and-text modules — feature highlights, comparison charts, brand story — below the product listing. It turns a plain description into a designed page.
- Can I have A+ style content on a Shopify store?
- Shopify has no built-in A+ Content, but the same layout works on any product page: designed sections with images, short copy and specs, placed below the product. You can build them by hand in your theme, or with an app.
- Is my description sent anywhere?
- No. The check runs entirely in your browser. Our analytics record the score, your selections (photo count and category) standard visit data such as device and country, and (if you allow cookies) session recordings in which the text box is masked — never the text you paste.
- Why do I have to paste the text instead of entering a URL?
- We don't fetch other people's stores from our servers. Pasting keeps you in control of what is checked.
- Does a higher score mean more sales?
- Not by itself. The score is a checklist of what a complete product page usually covers. Use it to find gaps, not as a sales forecast.
